Short Mat Bowling Club
The club was formed in early 1999, to take advantage of the new village hall.
Our short mat season is from early September to mid-April, when we have two sessions per week. Our meeting times being Tuesday afternoons from 2.00 pm until 4.00 pm., and normally Wednesday evenings from 7.30 pm until 9.30 pm. The exception being on the second Wednesday of each month, when the evening session is moved to Thursday.
We currently have 30 members ranging in age from 15 to over 80. Whilst we do take the games seriously, we do not belong to a league, and currently play 6 friendly games per season against local opposition.
To try the sport, we invite prospective members to visit on two occasions free of charge. We particularly welcome newcomers on Tuesday afternoons when we have spare capacity. We have a selection of bowls available for the use of new members.
